I have read lots of articles, blogs, comments, quotations, jokes,… about being a working mum and all of them have some truth to them. Everyone is different, has different obligations, needs and desires so when it comes to being a working mum, there is no one size fits all.
My baby girl (not so much a baby anymore), 19months, changed my life and my priorities. Firstly, I want to be a good mum and secondly, I want to be a good example. For me this means having a good work-family balance.
What makes a good mum?
What makes a good example?
I had to think for a while but came up with my TOP 5:
- Be cheerful (smiling is contagious)
- Be confident (relax, you are doing the best you can)
- Give complements (don't be judgmental)
- Be caring (what goes around, comes around)
- Be consistent (a happy balance)
When I add at the end of my TOP 5 ‘at home’ or ‘at work’; I believe I have found my balance!
