The Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society (CAPS) is a uniquely Asian, independent, action-oriented research and advisory organization committed to maximizing private resources for doing good. CAPS works across 18 Asian countries and territories to generate evidence-based insights into how individuals, companies and governments can best address social challenges.
CAPS is seeking to hire an experienced Bookkeeper preferably with non-profit experience. The role is a part-time position (2 days per week).
The individual will work closely with the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Director of Finance/Administration to undertake the following responsibilities:
Prepare financial reports by analyzing and summarizing account information and trends
Assist in the annual internal budgeting process with periodic adjustments as needed
Assist in the year-end accounting preparation and reporting with the auditors
Maintain accounts by developing systems for financial transactions; define bookkeeping
policies and procedures; manage donor restricted and unrestricted funds
With the support of the Office Manager, manage third-party and employee transactions,
historical records, daily bookkeeping and other accounting related tasks
Keep up to date on the latest accounting standards, statutory compliance, taxation,
payroll, MPF, etc.
Other finance-related tasks as may be agreed upon between the parties from time to time
Relevant certificate/diploma/degree in bookkeeping or accounting
Knowledge of QuickBooks
Self-starter but also a team player; mature; pro-active; willing to learn; good
Able to meet deadlines
Attention to detail
Able to work independently and take responsibility for tasks
Flexible to work extra days/hours if necessary (compensated accordingly)
Preferably 3-5 years of non-profit accounting/bookkeeping experience
Fluent in written and spoken English (Chinese or other Asian language a plus)
