RUN is a Hong Kong-based nonprofit that supports vulnerable refugees, particularly women, to build resilience and nurture self-reliance for a more hopeful future. With sport as the springboard and education as the foundation, we help refugees to create a life of safety and dignity, in Hong Kong and beyond.

We are looking for a Communications Manager/Officer (part-time) to lead RUN's communications strategy to promote the organisation's work, mobilise supporters, and educate the community. Key responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the programmes team to collect and share stories to illustrate RUN's work and educate the community about the reality facing refugees and asylum seekers in Hong Kong;
  • Maintain and update the website on a regular basis;
  • Create content for and manage RUN's e-newsletter and social media platforms to engage new and existing audiences;
  • Support the fundraising team to develop marketing materials for campaigns and events;
  • Produce annual reports and other materials as necessary;
  • Lead RUN's CRM strategy to ensure supporter information is properly tracked and can be used to inform fundraising and outreach activities;
  • Serve as media liaison to coordinate interview requests and pitch articles to raise RUN's profile in the community;
  • Oversee translations by volunteers to ensure content is communicated accurately in both English and Chinese;
  • Ensure RUN's brand is communicated consistently across all channels.

  • Experience in the NGO sector and/or with vulnerable populations;
  • Excellent writing skills and basic design skills;
  • Strong team player;
  • Creative problem solving skills and ability to adapt to change;
  • Software skills desired: Squarespace, MailChimp, Canva, Google Workspace, Kindful (CRM), Golden (volunteer management) or similar platforms;
  • Cantonese proficiency preferred.

Candidates with less experience are welcomed to apply and will be considered as Communications Officer.
