Job Description

A pioneering education organization is looking for a Primary Division Head & English Teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Division Head

  • Responsible for ensuring effective and high-quality teaching and learning for students ages 4 to 12, Grades 1 through 6
  • Develop and implement curricula in collaboration with teachers, particularly for general English and literacy development , creative writing, and test preparation
  • Develop a pedagogical guide and collect and organize pedagogical resources
  • Develop pedagogical framework for primary level academic coaching
  • Liaise closely with the Founder and Educational Director to ensure good educational practice
  • Meet regularly with staff to discuss and evaluate teaching and learning
  • Develop student intake procedures, including needs assessment and course/study plan recommendations
  • Develop student tracking and feedback procedures
  • Develop parent feedback and communication procedures
  • Communicate with parents to keep them informed and satisfied
  • Assist in recruitment and training of new teachers, including teacher observation
  • Attend special events (as needed) that promote the development of the primary division


  • Plan and teach courses including some of the following: Creative Writing, Essay Writing, Reading, Public Speaking and Debate, Book Clubs, US/UK Boarding School preparation
  • Conduct one-on-one academic or project coaching with students 
  • Manage individual student portfolios and perform ongoing student assessments
  • Advise students on community service projects, internships, and other individual pursuits
  • Communicate effectively with parents with occasional consultations
  • Collaborate in curriculum development, course, and unit planning
  • Introduce courses and services to prospective students, parents, and community partners

Key Requirements:

  • At least five years of classroom experience teaching Grades 1 to 6 students (primary/elementary school)
  • Bachelor’s degree and native fluency in English
  • Passionate about teaching and mentoring children and young people
  • Demonstrated academic excellence and exemplary critical and creative thinking skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and service experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive; keen to take the initiative to develop curriculum and build our community


  • Previous experience teaching at an IB or international school
  • Experience teaching IB PYP and MYP courses
  • Experience in the creative arts or innovative scientific work
  • Interest in curriculum design, educational research, educational technology, pedagogy, and cognitive psychology
  • Ability to connect with children and their parents
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Willingness to learn and continue with professional development
