The CMHA HK is a not for profit member-led organisation working specifically with the corporate sector to create mentally healthy workplaces. The Alliance is business-led and expert guided and aims to help shape the global business mental health agenda. We aim to increase mental health literacy, provide employers with practical tools and resources, and provide our members with the opportunity to share and hear from the experiences of other companies. 

The CMHA HK is seeking a team member to help ensure that CMHA HK is led by, and informs evidence-based practice. The post holder will act as the key communications and research person for the organisation, ensuring that members are kept up to date with the latest information and research, and share evidence with the wider network about CMHA HK events and contributions to mental health practice. In addition, the post holder will produce reports and information at individual organisation and aggregate level, helping to shape organisational strategy and ensure that the CMHA HK is a leader in workplace mental health.  

Key Responsibilities

The Officer will lead the CMHA HK in its communications and research on workplace mental health.

  • In collaboration with Head of Strategy and Operations and CEO, in charge of impact, measurement and communications strategy for the organisation 
  • In charge of internal tracking and measurement to support analysis of impact of member and overall CMHA HK work
  • In charge of production of individual and aggregate Thriving at Work Assessment reports
  • Leading on writing individual member case studies for the CMHA HK Workplace Mental Health in Practice Series
  • Conducting regular online surveys and producing reports to support change measurement
  • Conducting qualitative research with members to understand areas of practice with a view towards communication of ideas to others
  • Managing LinkedIn profile for CMHA HK including posting regular updates and sharing of member activities 
  • Production of new materials to grow the CMHA HK brand within Hong Kong (this may include production of a video, review of written materials)
  • Writing quarterly research-focused newsletter
  • Overseeing website and branding to ensure CMHA HK is in line with global brand  
  • In charge of regularly updating website 
  • Overseeing regular communications with members and liaising with members on a regular basis to support work and engagement
  • Writing blogs/ short articles to share online about member activities 


Other responsibilities

  • Representing CMHA HK at external and member speaking events (conferences, panels etc)
  • Support with training for members and external clients, if applicable 
  • Liaising with the CMHA Global team, as appropriate
  • Supporting team with updating of  materials, streamlining of systems and processes
  • Support with development of new training and written materials (for example, development of training programs for specific sectors in collaboration with CEO)

We are a small but dedicated team. As such, the post holder may from time-to-time be required to take on additional responsibilities to ensure smooth running of the organisation.




  • Interest in mental health
  • Knowledge and awareness of key issues facing staff working in the corporate sector on mental health 
  • Good interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English 
  • At least five years work experience in relevant roles (research/communications related)
  • Experience in research and communication of ideas, concepts and research findings 
  • Experience with conducting and production of simple reports
  • Willingness to work flexibly and undertake duties that may be part of running and growing a small organisation
  • Ability to work autonomously 


  • Cantonese and/ or Mandarin written and spoken skills
  • Mental health/ health related background 
  • Experience with mixed methods/ qualitative/ quantitative research 
  • Experience in using online survey platforms and delivering reports 
  • Track record of producing research reports
  • Track record of production of clear communications 
  • Experience in working with corporate clients 
  • Experience in working for not-for-profit sector 

Hours and Expectations

The role is anticipated to be approximately 2-3 days or 16-24 hours per week. The CMHA HK is pleased to offer flexible working. 

Depending on the candidate, there will be an opportunity for development of the role to become more strategy focused and full time.

  • The candidate is welcome to work from home or other location, but office space will be made available (if requested) and the post holder must also be available for team and external meetings.
  • Appointments are made on a contract basis, and staff are contracted on a  consultant basis.

Candidates should be able to work in Hong Kong; we are unfortunately unable to sponsor visas at the current time.
