Job Description

A leading international telecom player is looking for a Technical Project Manager. The company offers great work-life balance opportunities. 

Responsible for business case, project initiation, planning, control, execution and finalization in liaison with the project stakeholders, customers/users, delivery partners and the support organization.

Job Descriptions:

  • Support IT Core Enterprise team for managing project delivery:

  • Facilitate the development and approval of the project business case and define success metrics in partnership with business sponsors, including leading the project through the Telstra stage gate process

  • Take lead of stakeholder engagement and user advocacy for the programs or projects.

  • Take ownership of the project delivery in meeting the business needs, which are measured by benefits, expected outcomes, and KPI)

  • Create and manage the project plan and execution, facilitate the transition of new services / technology / solution delivered by the project from plan, design, build, implement, test to production.

  • Assemble and coordinate the internal and external teams that are assigned and/or involved in the project, and gain consensus and/or commitment on deliverables and timeline.

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, project management documentation and presentations.

  • Identify, analyse and cost risks, change requests and issues and establish mitigation plans where appropriate.


  • Tertiary qualification - Engineering, Information Technology discipline preferred

  • Professional certification or accreditation in project or program management - At least one of: PMP®, MSP™, RegPM, PRINCE2, or equivalent

  • Minimum of 10 years in a senior project management position for IT infrastructure related projects

  • Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects with cross-functional project teams and multiple internal/external stakeholder groups

  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies, best practices and tools

  • Business case development, benefit tracking and management

  • Exposure to corporate governance routines and Executive/Senior Management reporting

  • Proven ability to analyse complex problems, identify critical issues and develop strategies for delivering solutions

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with proven ability in establishing and maintaining both internal and external stakeholder relationships

  • Demonstrated knowledge of specialist and Corporate functions such as Finance, Legal, Procurement, Risk, Compliance, and Technology

  • Ability to intuitively analyse project progress and communicate proactively with stakeholders to manage escalations, share insights, and advise on alignment and risk mitigation.

  • Experience working within the large corporate environment preferred, and project delivery/deployment for international or different geographical locations.
